NFL Pick

Ravens -7 @ Browns bought the hook

The Browns will be lucky to score here, the Ravens D will be good for a couple of turnovers that will set up a shot field for the O. The Browns D is flat out terrible and with the improved QB play and a healty Jamal Lewis will be able to put up enough pts to cover. Ravens will win by 14-17 pts.

Ravens D
3 pts per game
152 yards per game

Browns O
15.5 pts per game
243.5 yards per game

Ravens O
27.5 pts per game
267.5 yards per game

Browns D
26.5 pts per game
403.5 yards per game

Lets make some money

Utah -6.5 @ San Diego St (W)

SDSU has no offense what so ever but they have a alright defense that should keep them in the game. The Aztecs are averaging a mere 28.29 yards per boot and four yards per return, while Utah, thanks to Louie Sakoda, is cranking out 43.42 yards per punt. SDSU can't afford to lose 15 yards in every change of possession.

Utah's QB Brett Ratliff has looked really good that last 2 games after a bad performance against UCLA. I chaulk that up to 1st game of the year and on the road against a pretty good team. I believe this will be a pretty close game through 3 quarters but with Utah getting the field position egde should pull away late and win by 10-14 points.

UConn +2.5 @ Indiana (W)

UConn has a very potent trio of running backs and after giving up 244 yards to S Illinois, I just don't see how Indiana can stop UConn. UConn has the nations leading punt returner Larry Taylor who is averaging 27 yards per return and is due to break one. The wrong team is favored here. Take the Huskies here.

Will be back with a few more.

How will Virginia stop Reggie Ball

Virginia @ G Tech -17

Georgia Tech opens up the ACC with a very weak Virginia team. Virginia is coming off a very bad loss at home to W Michigan and the teams moral is down with a short week to prepare for a very good GT team. Virginia cannot stop the run against weaker opponents and GT runs the ball very well. Virginia starts a very young offensive line that will not be able to pick up the GT blitz.

Virginia is starting a freshman at QB who played the entire 2nd half last week but this is his 1st game starting and it will not be pretty against a good GT defense and on national TV away from home.

Take GT and the points, they should win by at least 3 TD's.

2nd Half Pick

2nd Half Jaguars -7.5

They are down 7-0 and I dont see the Texans winning this game, so take the Jags 2nd half.

NFL Picks

Panthers PK

They own the Bucs especially with Simms at QB.

Ravens +3

They continue to play well after their Mon night game and pull out a victory at home against the Bengals, sorry Ohio Ice.

Cheifs -3

Cheifs should get the victory here even without Holmes.

NCAA Picks

South Carolina +4

S. Carloina has a chance to become bowl eligible with a win in Arkansas. After winning a huge game last week in Tennessee the Gamecocks will carry the big Mo into Arkansas and get a SU victory. S. Carolina has had some tough road games this year and going into Arkansas will be easy compared to what they have already seen (Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee).

Hogs are starting a true freshman at QB this week.

Iowa State -7.5

Kansas State is 0-3 ATS on the road this season. Iowa State has been playing really well the last couple of weeks. A poor road team against a team that is really hot = easy cover here.

Iowa State will win by at least 2 TD's, if not more.

Rutgers -3

This will be USF's 3rd road game in a row. They played Miami pretty tough but then went to Pitt and got beaten by 14 by a very bad Pitt team. 3 points is not very much considering that Rutgers were a 6.5 favorite against Navy and covered. In my opinion Navy is a better team than USF, so the Scarlett Knights will cover this spread easily.

Wake Forest + 9

9 points is alot for 2 teams that are pretty equal. Georgia Tech is 2-4 ATS this year while Wake has run off 5 straight ATS. Wake will keep this game close and might even go into Atlanta and pull off the upset.
